If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors
to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.

Every Day Dishes and Leftovers

We actually have a hint of a Summer Breeze this afternoon.
The Lake is calm and the sky is clear, promising a lovely sunset tonight.

Fishing boats are starting to show up on a regular basis.

and the purple martins have returned to their house by the lake.

I was able to salvage a few of my tulips after the big weekend wind storm.

Looks like a perfect evening to invite the neighbors over for an impromptu dinner.
My every day china will work just fine....no fussing tonight.

Some left-over lasagna, reheated in the covered casserole,

a fresh garden salad in chilled bowls,

a glass of Chianti and some freshly grated cheese on the lasagna....

Nothing fancy....just great conversation with wonderful friends, and a Sunset.

I think ITLLDO!

The table is set with my every day china...Maitre d'  by Oneida
Blue rimmed goblets from The Christmas Tree Shop
Every day flatware...Gorham Studio
Placemats and Napkins from Ross
Tulips planted last fall with bulbs from The Christmas Tree Shop

Now, don't forget to visit Susan's wonderful blog, Between Naps on the Porch, for some really super tablescapes.  You'll be glad you did!

What a lovely dinner and an AMAZING VIEW. We've got cold rain here on Long Island. Not a hint of Spring. It feels more like March than May.

Oh my, with that beautiful view you could use paper plates and it would be a lovely tablescape. I love how you made everything look so perfect with your every day dishes and left overs. Just goes to show, you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a lovely tablescape and invite company over.

Great job!

Hugs,
Joanne

Oh, I know your friends were delighted to join you at this welcoming table for a delicious meal! I love the two plaids in your table linens -- they set off your everyday dishes beautifully. Incredible view!

Oh my gosh...what a marvelous place to dine! I am GREEN with envy over that gorgeous view. *sigh* I miss my little lake view that we had in FL. *double sigh*

Your table looks especially inviting. My hubby prefers casual so people will feel relaxed & at ease. Its hard for me to "do" casual.
I wish we had a Christmas Tree Shop around here!!

Wonderful TT post!
